(Economical) Worlds Apart

Just came across this video on Youtube and knew I had to talk about it. It's called "Women with Different Salaries on What they Feel Guilty Buying". And the first thing I want to say is this: please, Lord, let me make anything even remotely resembling $29k so that I can have a guilty pleasure. Or just a plain pleasure, no guilt involved.

The video is only about 2 minutes long. 2 minutes of different women, from different races, from different backgrounds, with different jobs, simply talking about their guilty pleasures. But what is painful for me to watch is the discrepancy. Not amongst them. But from my side of things. Only two of these women are above 40. The rest of them are In their 30s and a large number is still In their 20s. How do we get there so early in life? How do we keep ourselves there? And if we're not there, how can we make it there?

Teaching a group today, we discussed this saying:

"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." Thomas Edison

But is that the secret of it all? Just working your *ss off? Or could we be talking about smart work?

What do you think?
